Question: 6

A, B and C entered into a partnership by investing Rs.15400, Rs.18200 and Rs.12600 respectively. B left after 6 months. If after 8 months, there was a profit of Rs.28,790 then what is the share of C in the profit?

(A) Rs. 9432

(B) Rs. 8568

(C) Rs. 8712

(D) Rs. 8352

Ans: C

Investment of A for 8 months = Rs. 15400

Investment of B for 6 months = Rs. 18200

Investment of C for 8 months = Rs. 12600

Ratio of the share of A, B and C

= 15400 x 8 : 18200 x 6 : 12600 x 8

= 154 x 8 : 182 x 6 : 126 x 8

= 44 : 39 : 36

Sum of the terms of ratio = 44 + 39 + 36 = 119.

Share of C = Rs. $$(36 / {119} × 28790)$$ = Rs. 8710.

(A) 37 : 14

(B) 18 : 7

(C) 3 : 1

(D) 2 : 1

Ans: B

                       = 720000 : 280000 = 18 : 7

A, B and C enter into a partnership. A invests some some at the beginning, B invests double the amount after 6 months and C invests thrice the amount after 8 months. If the annual profit be Rs.27,000, C’s share is

(A) Rs. 11,250

(B) Rs. 10,800

(C) Rs. 9000

(D) Rs. 8625

Ans: C

Let A’s investment be Rs. x.

Then, Ratio of capitals = ( x × 12) : (2x × 6) : (3x × 4)

                                  = 12x : 12x : 12x = 1 : 1: 1.

Therefore, C’s share = Rs. = $$(27000 × 1 / {3})$$ = Rs. 9000.
